The Big Cheese
No not the one above. Every year the big cheese is held on the grounds around Caerphilly castle. This year its the 27th to the 29th of July.
There is much to do and see when the festivals on. Attractions include: Funfair, Market / Craft Stalls, Exhibitions, Live music, Demonstrations, Historical re-enactments and more! Best of all - it’s free to enter the Big Cheese area and parking is pretty good because of a park and ride service from Pontygwindy Rd (situated in what was St Ilans school).
There is also a funfair but alot of people (myself included) have found it to be very expensive. The beer is also expensive (£3.50 a pint if I remember rightly, so head to The Courthouse, The Kings or The Railway for a much cheaper pint. It seems to be the same stalls and mostly the same attractions each year, still if you havent been probably still worth a visit (as well as the fireworks display in November.
